The Grand Bishop
>23% Strength, 8% Bloodlust, 42% Intelligence, 57% Spirit, 23% Vitality and 27% Agility!
>Grand Bishops often have few skills with weapons and they are probably the least physically powerful of all the classes. However, they are by no means the weakest class. In fact, Grand Bishops utilize some of the most powerful magic in world: the power to control time. By controlling time, Grand Bishops can change and reverse the course of events and defeat opponents that no other class could ever dream of defeating. In fact, Grand Bishops can even alter the time of an object, allowing them to fast forward that object into the future or revert it to a state in the past. As an extension, this can be used as an advanced form of healing, enabling Grand Bishops to restore severed limbs and wounds. Although time may be a powerful ally, it requires a great deal of energy and magic to manipulate, so Grand Bishops use this power sparingly. Instead, they more often use their mastery over light magic and the basic elements to battle their foes. Grand Bishops may be supremely powerful spellcasters, but they most often use their power for good rather than evil. Those who use their power for evil may abuse their power over time and fall into chaos and oblivion.

>Choose time magic
>Use bombs all the time
>become ninja master
By combining their stealth and evasion with powerful elemental magic, Ninja Masters are some of the fiercest warriors. Although they may not be the most physically powerful warriors, their cunningness and spellcasting abilities more than make up for any deficiencies. In fact, Ninja Masters can use their ninja techniques to enhance their strength, thus making them even more powerful and formidable. Their strength truly becomes something to be feared when they enhance it enough to be able to punch through solid stone. In addition, their agility allows them to rapidly unleash powerful blasts of elemental ninja techniques that quickly overwhelm the enemy; however, Ninja Masters more often prefer to stealthily and quietly eliminate their opponents. When faced with armies of warriors, Ninja Masters can increase their own numbers and overwhelm their opponents by sneakily creating elemental clones. It is often difficult to determine whether or not a Ninja Master will walk the path of good or evil, though it is certainly not true that all are evil.

Congratulations on reaching this high class!

The Spirit Reaper
22% Strength, 72% Bloodlust, 10% Intelligence, 10% Spirit, 23% Vitality and 52% Agility!

Masters of killing and evasion, the Spirit Reapers can easily eliminate any foe. A slash of of their weapon means certain death. All who stand before them fall in pain and defeat. Using their dark magic, Spirit Reapers can literally transform themselves into shadows and easily sneak up on their foes. The Spirit Reapers trap the souls of defeated enemies within their scythe so that they can summon those spirits in future battles. Creeeeeeeppppyyy! In addition, their weapon is able to absorb the energy and abilities of the people they have reaped. For example, if their scythe slashes through the soul of a spellcaster, their weapon will take on the magical properties and powers of that spellcaster. Spirit Reapers will often hunt down powerful magicians to collect an array of diverse and powerful forms of magic, and with enough magic at their command, Spirit Reapers will become deadly and virtually invincible warriors of darkness. In addition, the souls they've absorbed extend their own lifeline and can even be used as a sort of shield to bear the brunt of any attacks that come their way.

Congratulations on reaching this high class!

Turns out the current patch doesn't work with Inganock after all, the game engine seems to have received some updates as well as the voices and some new CG being added.
Well, since I've already read the first part it's easy enough to keep up with and good practice for my Japanese. It would still be nice to have a working English patch, though.

In the spirit of tradition:

Just fear those witches stalking and cruelly mocking you too,
Come on, it's dreadful weather for a twilight together with you.
Outside Kinzo is bawling, and maids are calling, "Ya-su"
Come on, it's dreadful weather, for a twilight together with you.

Grovel up, Grovel up, Grovel up, gulls cry, we're destined to die.
The witch's revival shall soon be nigh.
Grovel up, Grovel up, Grovel up, fate's wrought,
that we will be shot,
We're being misled by the dread of a strange and uncertain plot.

Our heads are smashed and covered, and plenty smothered are we,
We're huddled up together like two stakes of the nether would be.
Let's stuff 'smith in the furnance and maybe earn us some peace,
Perhaps at last we'll quiet that incessant riot, at least.

There's a teaparty with Lia, Gaap, and Ro~nove,
It'll be a gruesome ending to a grue~some day.
We'll be throwing red, blue, and gold around without a single slip,
In the gameroom while we watch the chessboard flip; Flip! Flip! Flip!

There's a sickly feeling like your neck is be~ing wrung,
When they pass around the face pie and the Eva's tongue,
It'll nearly be like that episode, where nobody survives-
These maddening trolls are the trolls we remember all through our lives!
These maddening trolls are the trolls we remember all through our lives!

Just fear those witches stalking and cruelly mocking you too,
Come on, it's dreadful weather for a twilight together with you.
Outside Kinzo is bawling, and maids are calling, "Ya-su"
Come on, it's dreadful weather for a twilight together with you.

It's a rare whisky from Glenmorangie's private collection range, not many shops around here stock it at all.
Normally you'd need to drive for about an hour to the nearest large city to find a specialist drinks shop that stocks it - or to go straight to the distillery way up in the highlands - but it turns out there was a fair sized drinks shop in a small town just half and hour away that had a few bottles in stock.

The taste is really something else. It has such a rich, smooth flavour, and the aroma is so gentle and alluring. Without a doubt the best whisky to have ever passed these lips of mine.

No, this is something I've been wondering for a while.

You see, back when I met you on /a/, we once had a thread where you challenged me to show that I had love by interpreting each of the fantasy scenes throughout all the episodes as metaphors for the mystery behind them. Presumably, you didn't like people hand-waving those scenes as if they meant nothing, because that didn't show respect for the author who put them there for a reason. So you put value in those scenes. When we came to /seacats/, you said you wouldn't "hang around" here once Umineko was over, so the only thing keeping you here was discussion of the series itself. There was a time when you said that you shouldn't play Higurashi with the ps3 sprites, because they lack the charm of the original ones. And also, when episode 8 came out, you seemed quite eager to discuss it with me, even though I was less than interested.

Obviously, something has changed if you're now not even bothering to read the conclusion of the series that brought to here to begin with until the ps3 sprites that you were originally in Higurashi's case disapproving of are, along with the rest of the ps3 features, patched in the PC version. Especially when nobody knows how long it will take for that to happen.

I know this is forward, but it just seems so different from the Lambda I remember, especially when episode 8 features what I presume is your favorite character, or favorite female character, heavily. Since it was Lambda you used to post as, but you'd complain that it was because all the good male characters were already taken.

Is there anything in particular that changed your mind about all that stuff?

Well, if you really want to know, it's pretty much two reasons, besides the obvious ones like being too busy or trying to read other vns like F/SN.

1)Midway through EP7 I realized how boring Umineko was. How boring, you ask? I fell asleep several times at my computer just getting through a single chapter.

2) I don't like how R07 ended Umineko in a sense that it still insulted the readers, whether he truly meant it or not. At least if I'm going to be insulted, it will be in glamor of professionally drawn sprites and vivid voice acting. But mostly for the voice acting.

>1)Midway through EP7 I realized how boring Umineko was. How boring, you ask? I fell asleep several times at my computer just getting through a single chapter.
I see. I've always found it engaging, myself.

>2) I don't like how R07 ended Umineko in a sense that it still insulted the readers, whether he truly meant it or not.
Well, I was a bit insulted when I read Umineko 8 with machine translations, but when I read it properly translated, it became apparent that the reason the goats were depicted in an unfavorable light was because they represented theorizers in the world of Umineko, not in the real world. Meaning, they were digging up a real tragedy that happened to a real family and rabidly discussing who killed who and in what order, while the ones reamining, Eva and Ange, suffered for it. That's especially clear when it's pointed out that Beato herself is responsible for that, because her message bottles started that. Beato apologizes to Ange for that. So if we're to take it as an insult to the readers, then the one who should be most insulted according to that logic is Ryu07 himself for making the series. While the truth is something we want to know, to Ange it can be a harmful thing, because it's her own family.

You're right that he did insult his readers whether he meant to or not, since he seems to acknowledge that and apologize in an interview, but even if he conveyed it properly, that could easily be lost in machine translation.

I know I can't convince you of anything, though. It was just puzzling me, now I understand.

That's interesting, actually. He talks about these two things in the same interview, if I recall. He scrapped the original episode 3, Land, because it ramped up the difficulty too much in terms of mystery. After people throwing up their hands and giving up after being confronted with episode 2's fantasy scenes, he decided to go a little easier, which is what Virgilia was introduced for.

Apparently, he also put more and more fantasy scenes in so people who didn't want to solve the mystery could still enjoy reading. Although, I still feel the fantasy scenes are a mysteries of themselves in a way, just not the standard variety. Because they all have hidden meanings you have to think a bit about. That's what reminded me of the game we played on /a/, actually.

Here's the interview. It's extremely long and has episode 8 spoilers, of course.

You said it.

It's not exactly the same as your average test, though. Ryu07 seems to believe there's enough evidence so that if you think about it for long enough, there's only one answer for each case that makes sense. It interests me how even now I can go through the episodes and work out more of the details. It's not that I don't have the truth figured out, because for the most part I do, we're told most of it. There are just details missing here and there that could probably be cleared up with close attention.

About the answer book, I heard it's supposed to be only solutions for the murders and the closed rooms. Nothing more after that, so I suppose there'll still be all the little things for those still looking into the mystery.

I don't know much about the supposed book, though. Kinjo probably would.

If you take a line in Higurashi to be indicative of his thoughts, it would seem that he once believed blatant answers to be necessary, as you do. If so, he must have changed his mind somewhere along the way.

As for me, I don't know. I used to agree with you for the most part, but I can see where he's coming from. Especially after that interview. Well, really, he's conveyed the same sentiment in interviews long before this one.

I believe that relates to how he doesn't want the answer to be just something that can be revealed via a copy-pasted spoiler list.

Saying "Yasu in the culprit" could just be a reference to the famicon game, saying "Beatrice is the culprit" sounds like you're saying it was the witch, saying "Shannon is the culprit" is a bit better but still isn't the whole thing. "Shkanontrice is the culprit" might just confuse someone new to the series. Yasu is something difficult to explain, so it can't be copypasted. I think he means it's groundbreaking in that sense.

He's right about that. But the reason it's difficult to explain is because it's a convoluted solution in the first place.

It's like looking up the back of a math book for 2 + 2 and you see four~
End result, it's four

It needing a little more explanation is what makes it different.
I'm just saying that Yasu was a very poorly written character itself...~

>K I also thought about wether the name of the Siesta sisters had it’s origin in the number 6. Is it?

>R That thought is quite intersting, but if I would have to answer that honestly, it comes from the Chester in Winchester. That’s why the name Siesta really doesn’t begin with an S but a C. If you enter an I into the word Chester you get Chiester. And isn’t it fascinating how even a gun can become a bunny if you put love into it (= 愛 (love) is read Ai in Japanese).

Shannon died face down, slumped over the makeup cabinet. It’s a really simple trick. You tie the weapon to a heavy object with a string, then you throw the heavy object behind the cabinet. And then it’s the classic trick, when you commit suicide, the gun is pulled behind the cabinet towards the heavy object.

Damnit, I see what you mean, Piece. I would have never have guessed this. But it does makes some sense...

And during EP4 the same trick was used to drop the weapon into the well in the end. Because of the image of well=trashcan, I imagined that everybody would find it easy to get that trick.

I... forgot about that. I thought the well was sealed though...

>George’s idea of their future after marriage might have put severe pressure on Shannon

>K I thought about this just now when we were discussing the events in Natsuhi’s room, but would the piece Shannon really be able to kill George? That is something that really bugs me.

>R While the body is Shannon, it’s worth thinking about whose body this was originally. Because in the end it is just a question of software. Even though the clothes belong to Shannon, if what’s within is another being then that person would surely be able to kill George. Clothes are not a personality. And so, even though the cloths and the hairdo might be Shannon’s, but there is the possibility that it was another person, when she started asking questions about George.

DID HE JUST ADMIT TO SHKANNONTRICE RIGHT HERE!? HE MIGHT AS WELL HAVE!

I knew about the well thing, but really only because someone mentioned the possibility once. Apparently, the same kind of tricks were used in And Then There Were None. But I was drawn to Umineko for its involvement in logic, I know nothing about golden age mystery. I see he notes a lot of his audience doesn't.

Also, I'm more surprised about the other things he reveals than Shkanontrice. Since it's probably impossible for anyone to read the whole thing without knowing at least that.

This is the last guy, the word of God, that he would actually openly admit to his trick due to "lol, figure it out yourself" all the damn time.
But he might as well be wearing a shirt saying "Shannontrice" on it the way he worded that in the interview.

Moreover, I still think the personality thing is a bit cheap. Cheap, in a way, that seems to really bend his own rules that he sets out.

You didn't know that? I think it's been standard theorizing for a while that stakes are just driven into gunshot wounds.

As for the concealing of weapons, I knew a method like that could be used, but at the same time I didn't conceive that it would be used to hide weapons in a different location in the same room. So I too willingly took the basis that the room was a perfectly closed room and that Battler investigated it to mean that there weren't any weapons hidden.

I think there were probably enough hints. The stakes driven into heads means the culprit shot them with a gun. The stake not driven into Shannon's means she was the last to die. The fact that the key and the master keys were accounted for should say that the room is closed. Unless Shannon was able to perform several actions simultaneously as she died, or unless they all died in some kind of perfect pattern which pulled of an otherwise inconceivable feat, it stands to reason that there was a weapon concealed in the room. This weapon would have needed to be hidden from view, and if you can reason that Shannon was the culprit, you can reason that it's the behind the dresser her body is described to lay on.

That's really the version of events that makes the most sense. Solving this room gets quite messy without that, like claiming that since Shannon's face is so blood-spattered it could have been someone else's corpse disguised at her, or claiming that Genji was involved and managed to whisk away all the weapons before being locked out of the room by someone already dying from a gunshot.

I don't think he meant that by answer, really, because it's less important than Shkanontrice is. He basically does give out the core of the mystery in that interview.

If you look at the Eva diary reading scene in the script file, by the way, there are two images that aren't shown because they've been turned into comments. They make it even more obvious.
